Naomi Ryder is a textile designer
and illustrator specialising in
embroidery. Naomi’s proficiency in
illustration led to her combining her love of
drawing with her textile work. These two elements are
combined by using techniques
such as stitch (both hand and free-hand
machine embroidery) and print.
Naomi’s main source of inspiration is in the beauty
and humour in day-to-day culture
- her most recent work explores the beauty
in mundane tasks. She has recently completed
a 3 piece wall hanging in silk chiffon, featuring 43 embroidered
illustrations.
Naomi has worked on many commissions
including an advertisement for
Domino records, posters for Habitat,
CD artwork for David Kitt and Half
Set as well as illustrations for magazines such
as Plan B, Foggy Notions and
Irish Homes.
